I am a former retail supervisor and want to change careers. How does someone get into the mortgage underwriting field? I would meditate on loan officer as well. Any thoughts on which is easier to get into and which job is better (and why). Thanks!!
Answer: You can not become an underwriter without mortgage observation - a great deal of it. Loan Officer is unsuitable to get into now with no experience as well due to the SAFE ACT of 2009. I agree with whoever said processing is the way to start.
